- PyeongChang 2018 created a long-term legacy for sport, people and place, transforming the Republic of Korea into a recognised winter sports destination while expanding access to winter sport for young people domestically and internationally.
- A dedicated Legacy Foundation, funded by the Games surplus, underpins continuity, managing venues, delivering youth and athlete programmes, promoting Olympic values, and extending the impact through initiatives such as Gangwon 2024.
- The Games generated lasting social, economic and diplomatic benefits, including infrastructure upgrades, tourism growth, increased sports participation, progress on gender equality, and a unique contribution to peace on the Korean peninsula.
