Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner Allianz has announced that the Allianz Beach Arena in Long Beach, California, will become the first Olympic competition venue to carry the company's name at the LA28 Olympic Games.

The announcement brings together Allianz's Olympic partnership and its global network of sporting venues, while reflecting the new opportunities for commercial partners created by LA28's venue naming rights programme.

Located on the Long Beach waterfront, the temporary 11,800-seat arena will host the Olympic beach volleyball and Paralympic blind football competitions in 2028, with more than 460,000 spectators expected across both events.

The venue will continue the tradition of staging Olympic beach volleyball events in spectacular settings, following memorable competitions at Horse Guards Parade during London 2012, Copacabana Beach at Rio 2016 and beneath the Eiffel Tower at Paris 2024.

Connecting Allianz's sporting partnerships

The Allianz Beach Arena will become the eighth member of the Allianz Family of Stadiums, joining seven established sporting venues around the world, including the Allianz Arena in Munich, Allianz Stadium in Sydney and Allianz Field in St Paul, Minnesota. It will also be the first temporary venue to join the network.

“For the first time, two of our strongest sport partnerships – the Allianz Family of Stadiums and our Olympic and Paralympic partnership – come together in one venue that proudly bears the Allianz name,” said Eike Bürgel, Global Head of Olympic and Paralympic Program at Allianz.

Beach volleyball broke attendance records at Paris 2024, and having the Allianz name on its arena at LA28 is a unique way to bring our brand closer to fans and strengthen our visibility as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner.

The Allianz Beach Arena forms part of LA28's venue naming rights programme, which will see competition venues carry commercial partners' names for the first time in Olympic history. Developed in partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the programme creates new opportunities at LA28 for Partners to engage with fans and enhance their visibility during the Olympic Games.

As part of its preparations for LA28, Allianz has also unveiled its customised version of the LA28 emblem, featuring an interpretation of the Games' distinctive "A" inspired by two of its sporting venues. Allianz became a Worldwide Olympic Partner in 2021 as the exclusive Insurance Partner through to 2032, building on its long-term support of the International Paralympic Committee, which began in 2006. Through this partnership, Allianz provides insurance solutions that support the Olympic and Paralympic ecosystem, including Organising Committees, National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, teams and athletes, while promoting inclusion and connection.
