The 6th Asian Beach Games took place in Sanya, China, from 22 to 30 April 2026. The event featured 14 sports, 15 disciplines and 61 events. Building on the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA)’s extensive experience in Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (PMC) activities under the “Safeguarding the Asian Games” programme, an educational booth was set up throughout the Games. This initiative provided approximately 1,650 participating athletes with the opportunity to learn more about the topic, including associated risks and applicable rules.

With the Asian Games 2026 approaching (19 September to 4 October) in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the OM Unit PMC is working closely with the OCA to ensure the continued presence of an educational booth throughout the Games. In addition, a webinar for Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) and Chefs de Mission (CdMs) is scheduled for 16 July.

Turning to the Americas, Panama hosted the Latin American Youth Games from 12 to 25 April, bringing together more than 2,000 athletes across a wide range of sports and disciplines. In the lead-up to the Games, the Panamanian NOC organised a series of technical meetings, including one dedicated specifically to the prevention of the manipulation of competitions. This session enabled members of the Panamanian delegation to deepen their understanding of the issue. During the Games, relevant educational materials were also distributed in the athletes’ lounge.

An educational programme is also planned for this multi-sport event. Activities will include an on-site educational booth, complemented by a series of capacity-building initiatives for the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) participating in the Games.
