An IOC Young Leader from 2021 to 2024, Rishav Bhowmik holds a Master’s in Sports Business Management, is a trained architect, and a national-level air rifle athlete. He was twice selected as a Young Sports Maker at Global Sports Week in Paris and completed a Master Trainer workshop in the Olympic Values Education Programme.
Rishav also works with NGOs in India to expand access to sport for underprivileged children, combining his background in architecture, sport and education to create inclusive opportunities for young people.
Project: SportxAll
During his time as a Young Leader, Rishav founded SportxAll to provide access to quality sports training for underprivileged children in Kolkata. By connecting young people with elite sports clubs, the project offered professional coaching, equipment and safe spaces to develop sporting and life skills – all free of cost for participants.
Through yearly camps, physical fitness sessions and partnerships with local clubs, SportxAll introduced children to multiple sports such as karate and taekwondo, promoted the Olympic values, and created pathways to state-level competition. The project not only kept young people away from negative habits, but also helped them build confidence, resilience and a better outlook for their future.
