IOC YOUNG LEADER BIO:

Omar Bassyouni’s passion for table tennis began at a very young age, leading him to join the Development Department of the International Table Tennis Federation. His involvement in Para table tennis inspired him to use sport as a tool for social inclusion and to positively impact people’s lives.

PROJECT: Ramp-Up!

Ramp-Up! is a pioneering table tennis academy for people with disabilities, designed to provide safe and accessible opportunities to practise sport. The programme offers tailored training based on disability classification, while combining table tennis with leadership sessions to promote personal growth and community engagement.

By creating inclusive sporting environments, Ramp-Up! improves health, boosts morale, and supports participants to strengthen their sense of belonging and actively contribute to their communities. Beyond sport, the project also raises awareness of disability inclusion and works to expand opportunities for people with disabilities in society.
