Moussa Diedhiou

IOC YOUNG LEADER BIO:
An IOC Young Leader from 2021 to 2024, Moussa Diedhiou is a volunteer and member of the Senegalese National Olympic Academy (SNOA) and a master’s student in Olympic Studies. He is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment through sport and education. After gaining experience with the French Olympic Committee in 2024 and 2025, he joined the Youth Engagement team for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
PROJECT: YES (Youth Engagement through Sports)
During his time as a Young Leader, Moussa created YES to promote quality education, gender equality and environmental awareness through sport. The project empowered young people in rural communities in Senegal by providing access to football and other disciplines, tackling school dropout rates and supporting women’s participation in sport.
By producing sportswear from recycled materials, YES linked sustainability with inclusion, while funding educational tournaments to share the Olympic values and expand opportunities for young people. From its launch, the initiative received strong support from parents and young people alike, establishing itself as a local success story of the IOC Young Leaders 2021-2024 programme.
