Mayssa Bsaibes is an architect and former Lebanese table tennis champion who shifted her career to follow her passion for sport. A PhD candidate, her research focuses on women’s representation and leadership in Lebanese sport. She is dedicated to promoting gender equality and social inclusion in Lebanon and across the Middle East.

Project: Kee-PING Hope | أمل

Kee-PING Hope | أمل was created to bring hope and joy to Lebanese children affected by the country’s economic and political challenges. The project designs and builds sustainable table tennis tables and rackets with unconventional, vibrant designs, placing them in orphanages, underprivileged areas and urban rehabilitation zones.

Through regular training sessions, tournaments and workshops on life skills and well-being, the initiative provides safe spaces where children and youth of all gender identities can grow in confidence, connect with their peers, and access the benefits of sport. By integrating recycled materials and sustainable design, Kee-PING Hope | أمل also leaves a lasting environmental and social legacy.

Sustained Financing

In recognition of the impact of her project, Mayssa was granted sustained financing, extending her IOC Young Leader term until the end of 2025. This additional funding supports the scaling and long-term sustainability of Kee-PING Hope | أمل, , building on the progress made during her initial term.
