IOC Young Leader Bio

Kalinda Robinson, a retired elite track cyclist from Australia, is passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can thrive and discover themselves. Drawing on her own sporting journey, she now works at the intersection of belonging, resilience and equity – both in sport and the wider community. As an IOC Young Leader, Kalinda is committed to advancing LGBTQI+ inclusion in sport and building environments where diversity is celebrated.

Project: Sport in Colour

Sport in Colour is a pilot initiative designed to improve belonging and safety for LGBTQI+ people in sport. Research shows that nearly 70% of LGBTQI+ individuals feel unsafe or unwelcome in sporting environments. To address this, the project is developing a LGBTQI+ Sport Finder App that centralises inclusive sporting events, trainers and community groups across Australia. By connecting individuals to affirming spaces, Sport in Colour promotes participation, reduces mental health risks, and fosters a culture of equity and inclusion within sport.
