Procurement
The IOC Procurement Unit is in charge of supporting the acquisition of goods and services for the operations of all IOC entities headquartered in Lausanne. Its role is to help the IOC succeed in its mission by providing tailored procurement strategies that reflect and protect the Olympic values.
Depending on the estimated contract value, the nature and complexity of the requirements, and always at the IOC’s sole discretion, the sourcing of goods and services may be conducted through one of the following processes:
-
Direct appointment
-
Competitive bidding through closed tenders (open market pre-qualification steps may be undertaken).
For all reserved categories under The Olympic Partner Programme, the respective TOP Partners are appointed directly.
The IOC implements a responsible procurement approach, through which its products and services are sourced with environmental, social and ethical considerations in mind.
With this approach, the IOC aims to advance its environmental and social goals through its purchasing power, while mitigating value chain-related risks.
