Olympic Scholarships for Athletes
More than 12,000 athletes powered by Olympic Solidarity
Since Sydney 2000, athletes around the world have been supported through Olympic Solidarity scholarships on their road to the Olympic Games. By providing financial and technical support, particularly to athletes and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) most in need, the programme helps athletes from all backgrounds have an equal opportunity to prepare for, qualify and succeed at the Olympic Games.
More than 12,000 athletes worldwide have benefited from the programme, which expanded to include winter sports from Vancouver 2010. The monthly scholarships provide financial support for training at home or in high-performance centres worldwide, as well as coaching, equipment and competition costs.
