11 May 2026 - The NOC, in collaboration with Olympic Solidarity and the AIC Foundation, launched the “Sport for Peace” programme on 22 April. The initiative aims to promote peace, social cohesion and youth civic engagement through sport, in line with the IOC’s Olympism365 strategy. Implemented in a context marked by insecurity and social fragility, the programme targets young people aged from 14 to 18 from state schools in Port-au-Prince, located in areas affected by violence where access to educational and sporting activities is limited. The programme is built on three pillars: mobilisation and awareness, education through sport, and youth engagement and empowerment. Several activities are planned between April and June 2026, including awareness sessions in schools, an interschool futsal tournament, a “Sport for Peace” festival, a speech-making contest and a digital campaign.
