What’s next?
The IPACS roadmap for 2023 is action-packed and here is a snapshot of some upcoming key events:
The IOC has been invited to speak during a panel on integrity in sport at this year’s EU Sport Forum, to take place on 2 and 3 May in Stockholm, Sweden. This event, which is organised annually by the European Commission, will provide the opportunity to highlight IPACS’ mission and the collaboration between the IOC, the Olympic Movement, governments and intergovernmental organisations in tackling corruption issues in sport in a pragmatic way. The EU Sport Forum allows representatives from public policy, EU institutional, the business world, educational and other experts from across the field of sport to discuss challenges, opportunities and the future of sport in the EU.
Hosted by the Council of Europe, the IPACS Steering Committee will hold a full-day meeting on 5 May in Paris, France, to reflect and decide upon the vision of IPACS for the years to come, the related strategic approach and key actions. This important meeting will also include a session with a representative from the Agence Française Anticorruption (AFA) who will present France’s national approach in regard to corruption in sport. The aim is to reassess together how the partnership’s actions can best benefit and support the stakeholders at national level.
One month later, on 8 and 9 June, the Council of Europe will organise its annual plenary meeting of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS), a platform for intergovernmental sports cooperation between the public authorities of its member states. At this event, IPACS will be represented by the IOC.
