Olympic Victory Selfie, presented by Samsung debuts at Olympic Winter Games, following success at Paris 2024

This initiative comes after the tremendous success of the Victory Selfies first introduced by Samsung at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At Paris 2024, the Victory Selfie connected athletes and fans with the emotion of winning an Olympic medal up close. Overall, 253 selfies captured athletes standing on the podiums as they celebrated their achievements with each other. These moments were shared with fans globally through broadcast and digital channels.

Samsung’s customised technology was then used to map and sort the athletes’ selfies by sport before they were uploaded to the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Athlete365 platform, allowing athletes to save and share their podium experience with family and fans on social media. 

Now, thanks to the Victory Selfie, and inspired by the experience of Paris 2024, medallists at Milano Cortina 2026 are also able to capture their crowning moment on the podium and create unique memories from their own perspective.  

The Victory Selfie is offered during medal ceremonies for individual medallists and teams, with all medallists briefed on how and when to capture their images on the phones provided by Samsung.
