For the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lillehammer 2016, the temptation to return to this winter wonderland has attracted some of the world’s best sports photographers to cover the future generation of sporting greats.  These award-winning photographers will be featured over the coming weeks, starting this week with Englishman Bob Martin…

Bob Martin is a multi-award-winning sports photographer specialising in shooting action, graphic and editorial pictures. During a career spanning 30 years, he has photographed every major sporting event, from the last 14 summer and winter editions of the Olympic Games to elephant polo and horse racing on ice. His work has taken him to the furthest corners of the world, and his photographs have appeared in numerous publications, including Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, Life, L’Equipe, The Sunday Times and The New York Times, to name a few. Bob's photography has been honoured by more than 60 national and international awards.

He is a three-time winner of the prestigious British Sports Photographer of the Year award and in 2005 claimed World Press Photo Sports Picture honours. “Many journalists feel, like me, that Lillehammer was the best Winter Olympics ever”, he said.
