Olympic Golden Rings Awards: applications open for the Best Digital Offering category at Milano Cortina 2026 – information for the media
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) invites accredited media outlets that covered the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games to submit applications for the Best Digital Offering category of the Olympic Golden Rings Awards, the IOC’s long-standing competition recognising excellence in Olympic broadcasting and media coverage.
The Milano Cortina 2026 edition of the Olympic Golden Rings Awards marks the 50th anniversary of the awards, which celebrate outstanding innovation, storytelling and audience engagement across Olympic media coverage.
While most Olympic Golden Rings Awards categories are reserved for Media Rights-Holders and sublicensees, the Best Digital Offering category is also open to non-rights holders and other accredited media outlets.
The “Olympic Golden Rings” in gold, silver and bronze will be awarded to recognise the importance of digital delivery platforms in relaying coverage of the Olympic Games. Entries will be assessed against a range of criteria, including:
- Overall design and user experience
- Navigation and ease of use
- Range and quality of video offerings
- Functionality and accessibility
- Graphic design and data presentation
- The digital product must have been specifically developed for Milano Cortina 2026
Entries should be submitted as a produced video of no more than two minutes, explaining the digital product and featuring various screen grabs from the platform. The video should showcase key features, content and services available to users across devices, how the offering was promoted, and how audiences accessed and viewed the content.
Submission deadline
The deadline for submissions is 15 October 2026.
How to submit
All information regarding eligibility criteria, submission requirements and competition rules are available via the Olympic Golden Rings Awards portal. Interested media outlets should register on the platform, review the category requirements and entry rules, prepare and upload their submission before the deadline.

The winners will be recognised during the World Broadcaster Briefing for the Alpes 2030 Olympic Winter Games, scheduled for February 2027 (dates to be confirmed).
