Moderated e-posters and e-posters: a step towards sustainability and better dissemination of science

The Scientific and Organising Committees are thrilled to announce the introduction of a new format: e-posters and moderated e-poster sessions. This innovative approach eliminates the need for large boards, paper or foil printing, and the inconvenience of transporting physical posters.

“We are very excited about this change," said Lars Engebretsen, IOC Head of Medical Sciences. "The e-poster format not only aligns with Conference’s commitment to sustainability but also enhances accessibility and engagement for all participants."

This feature extends the life of the Conference beyond its physical duration and location – the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco - enabling science to reach further with greater impact.
To accommodate an unprecedented number of submissions, two new formats will be introduced: 18 moderated e-poster sessions taking place at lunchtime each day of the Conference in the Agora – a central location in Ravel Hall.

Each session will feature 10 presenters at six stations, each given five minutes to present their work and engage in Q&A with a moderator.

Outside these sessions, touch screens will be available for all participants to browse through the e-posters at their leisure.

But that's not all. In addition to these 180 submissions, over 100 visual abstracts have been accepted as e-posters. These will also be available on both screens and the mobile app. Presenters have been given the option to add a two-minute voiceover to their e-posters, allowing attendees to listen to explanations using their own phones and headphones.

The mobile app will be launched on 22 February, with e-posters becoming available on the first day of the Conference for all registered participants.

The moderated e-poster sessions will take place as follows:

  • 29 February 12.30 – 1.20 p.m. Moderated E-poster Sessions 1 – 6

  • 1 March 12.30 – 1.20 p.m. Moderated E-poster Sessions 7 – 12

  • 2 March 12.30 – 1.20 p.m. Moderated E-poster Sessions 13 – 18

"We are delighted that so many participants have embraced this change," said Engebretsen "We believe this is a significant step towards a more sustainable and accessible future for science.”
