Roux de Bézieux takes up the role on Monday 2 November. The appointment ends the interim presidency held since 14 September 2026 by the Organising Committee's Chief Executive Officer, Vincent Roberti, following the departure of former President Edgard Grospiron.

The Chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Coordination Commission for Alpes 2030, Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant, welcomed the appointment: "On behalf of the IOC, I warmly congratulate Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux on his appointment."

He knows how to lead large organisations and how to bring people together. He has also seen from the inside what it takes to deliver major sporting events in France. As a member of the Board, he already knows the project well, so he can get to work right away at an important time for Alpes 2030.

“I also want to thank Vincent Roberti for keeping the organisation on course over the past few weeks. We look forward to working closely with the new President and the whole team to deliver impactful Games shaped by the diversity of the host regions and united through the power of sport.”

The Organising Committee's stakeholders, who make up the Executive Board and the General Assembly, also thanked Roberti for ensuring continuity during his interim presidency. The new President’s appointment reflects their wish to entrust the project to an experienced leader able to manage something as complex and ambitious as the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games at the highest level. His strengths in dialogue and being receptive to others, together with his knowledge of the host regions and the business and sports worlds, were highlighted as key to delivering ambitious and responsible Games.

Roux de Bézieux thanked the members of the Executive Board for their trust: "Leading Alpes 2030 is an honour, because above all it is a commitment to work as a team to showcase sport and France. From Monday, I will join the Organising Committee teams in working to put this great event, with its universal values, into operation across the host regions. Leading Alpes 2030 means helping to build ambitious Games that are rooted in their time."
